helping lovers tie the knot
Thanks for taking the time to explore our site. Let me take a moment to introduce myself. I’m Bryn Armstrong, founder of Primp and Pop. From the get-go, hospitality and planning felt like my calling. I grew up in a Muskoka family that was always hosting—holidays, dinner parties, you name the special occasion, we had a full house! I loved the warm vibes and the opportunity for creativity.
When it was time to go to university, I chose Guelph and I chose hospitality and tourism. While I studied, I worked in restaurants, hotels and golf courses, which gave me a practical understanding of what I was learning in the classroom. When graduation came, I combined my creativity, organizational skills and work experience to become an event planner at an award-winning Toronto estate where I hosted many elaborate parties and gorgeous weddings.
I loved it and was inspired to start my own business in Toronto as a professional wedding planner. I called the company, An Artistic Affair. I had a blast and learned a ton!
Six years later, I returned to my hometown in Muskoka and it was my turn to head to the altar. That's when I had an epiphany! Knowing all of the ins and outs of getting married, I craved simplicity, elegance and low-stress. We had just purchased a home, had a baby on the way and big dreams of what we wanted after we exchanged vows. My partner and I agreed that it didn’t make sense to spend several thousand on one day. But we also knew that we wanted the day to be unlike any other. So, we put on a wedding that met this goal, but compromised none of the good stuff. I came to realize that we weren’t the only ones rethinking the traditional formula. Inspired by this changing tide, I opted to shift and modernize my business.
Primp and Pop was born and I haven’t looked back. I’ve combined my passion for creating beautiful weddings with my understanding of the new financial realities and life goals of today’s couples. Primp and Pop elopements, pop-up and micro-weddings are authentic, intimate, and all about you.
It’s an honour to play a role in a couple’s wedding day. I look forward to speaking with you about how I can contribute to yours.
Cheers,
Bryn
